Our Mission

The Women in Business organization, in conjunction with the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, inspires business and professional women in Iron County through building relationships, mentoring, networking, education, and community involvement.


Rocky Mazorow

Rocky Mazorow is the Computer Science Coordinator/Instructor at Southwest Technical College.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell College with a double Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Kinesiology and a minor in Computer Science.  Being an avid hiker, she moved to Utah to enjoy its natural beauty.  Rocky believes that the actions of individuals are what defines a community and joined Women in Business to do her part for Cedar City.

Katie Meeks

Katie Meeks is the vice president for Soaring Eagle Enterprises and the architect for Discover SEE academy. She specializes in the development and delivery of highly engaging online programs. Before joining Soaring Eagle Enterprises, Katie was a successful entrepreneur developing skills in communications, technology, and sales. She also has a background in construction and land development. Katie is married with two spirited girls, and loves being engaged in the community in Cedar City. She enjoys her time outdoors with her family on the off hours.

Jacqueline J. Russell

Jacqueline Russell’s friends and colleagues describe her as a passionate, thoughtful, forward-thinking woman who loves good food. She is through and through Texan and was born and raised in Austin. After four years of enlisted service in the Army National Guard, Jacqueline completed her pre-law degree from Binghamton University. Jacqueline served the next six years as an Army officer on active duty and separated as a Captain. During her service, she had the opportunity to take on several leadership roles and to deploy 15 months in Baghdad, Iraq. In 2012, shortly after separating from the military, she earned her MBA with a concentration in HR from Texas A&M- Central Texas. She has also since earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB). Most recently, Jacqueline has settled in Cedar City, Utah where she works as the Humanities and Social Sciences’ College Business Manager at Southern Utah University (Go T-Birds!). She serves on the board of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, is treasurer of the Cedar City Women in Business, is Chair-Elect of SUU’s UWHEN Chapter, and is involved in several other programs on the SUU campus. Her passions include leadership, women and veterans initiatives, process management/continuous improvement, rock hunting, her family, and her family’s hobby farm (not necessarily in that order).

Debbie Drake

Debbie Drake, Department Director at Southwest Applied Technology College (SWATC) oversees Allied Health Professions, Business, Digital Design, Computer Science, and Workplace Foundations Departments along with Distance Education. Working with SWATC since 2008, as Instructor and Program coordinator of the Business Department she developed practical hands-on education for students wishing to progress in their career goals and was awarded Cedar City Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year award in 2013. Drake, with a varied business ownership background, spent 25 years as co-owner, manager, and lead designer for D&S Construction, a local award-winning design/build company. A retail store, fitness center, land development, property management, and freelance art work were other companies she has owned over the years in Cedar City. As a long-time resident of Cedar City, Drake has served her community in many capacities and is currently the Past President of the Cedar City Arts Council, Past Vice President of Color Country Toastmasters, Secretary of Cedar City Chamber of Commerce Women in Business and serves on the boards of Utah Women in Higher Education (UWHEN) and Southwest Applied Technology College Foundation. She holds a Master of Education Degree in Instructional Design from Western Governor’s University and a Bachelor Degree in Art Composite from SUU.

Jennifer Sorenson

Jennifer Sorenson spent a decade honing her industry skills in property management and restaurant management. When the opportunity arose she completed a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Resort and Hospitality Management with a minor in Business Management as a non-traditional student at Southern Utah University (SUU). After realizing her passion for higher education and student affairs she shifted her career path to pursue higher education administration. In April of 2017, she will earn her Masters of Public Administration (MPA) with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration at SUU. Jennifer spent four years working as the Administrative Assistant for SUU’s MPA program where she was integral to the development and growth of the program. She is now serving as a Student Success Advisor at SUU where she is able to fulfill her desire to help students reach their educational goals. Her higher education research and interest is focused on the non-traditional student population. Jennifer serves as a board member of UWHEN, Chair for SUU’s UWHEN Chapter, committee chair for Cedar City Woman in Business, and coaches youth soccer in her community.

Lori Logue

Lori Logue is a Realtor with HomeSmart Advantage and specializes in working with first-time homebuyers. She spends time getting to know her clients and finding the home that suits their specific needs and budget. Lori believes that the key to a successful  business is building a strong relationship with clients through communication and understanding. In addition, Lori realizes that a Realtor must be able to educate buyers and sellers about the community around them. This is why she is involved in many organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Women in Business, and various charities. Lori is proud to work with her husband, Rob, and raise her three incredible children in Cedar City. Her oldest attends Southern Utah University, the middle child is a happy and engaged seventh grader, and her youngest is an energetic kindergartner. In addition to her profession as a real estate agent,  Lori has her BS in English, MS in Higher Education, and has almost completed her MA in English/Creative Writing. Education and writing have always been another passion for her.
